Fatigue Management Accommodation Investigation – Moranbah
October 4, 2021
Wall Planning Group (WPG) was engaged by Isaac Regional Council (IRC) to prepare an investigation report assessing three potential sites in Moranbah for the development of Fatigue Management Accommodation. With growing demand for safe, accessible accommodation options, the project sought to balance development opportunities with planning requirements and community needs.
Scope of Work
The investigation report undertaken by WPG provided Council with detailed analysis of:
- The limitations and impacts of obtaining development approval under both the existing Belyando Planning Scheme 2008 and the proposed (draft) Isaac Regional Planning Scheme 2018.
- Likely development costs and infrastructure requirements for each of the identified sites.
- Options for accommodation types, number of units, and styles of facilities best suited to each site.
Outcome & Impact
The investigation report proved essential in guiding Council’s decision-making process by highlighting both opportunities and constraints associated with each site. WPG’s clear analysis and strategic recommendations supported informed planning for future accommodation development, ensuring alignment with regional growth, workforce needs, and fatigue management objectives.
